Can I get a temporary crown or bridge on my implant the same day it’s put in?

Currently, we do not use anesthesia to put patients to sleep. Instead, we offer oral conscious sedation as an option. This medication helps you relax during the procedure and may make you forget parts of it. We’ll provide you with a prescription to pick up at your chosen pharmacy. Please remember to arrange for someone to drive you home after taking the sedation, as it’s important not to operate any vehicles or machinery afterward.

You may continue to bleed slightly for the first 24 hours after your implant placement. If you feel that you are bleeding excessively, please contact the clinic.

An old home remedy that effectively aids clotting and stops bleeding is tea bags. Simply dampen a regular tea bag, remove excess water, and apply it to your extraction site or sites. The tanic acid in the tea leaves promotes clotting. Additional tea bags can be used if necessary. Replace saturated tea bags as needed. Repeat this process as required.

While experiences can vary, you might experience some discomfort and swelling after the procedure. Some patients report only minor discomfort. We will prescribe pain medication to help manage any discomfort you may have.

We do not offer zirconia implants because they are new and their long-term success is still uncertain. Our priority is to provide the best and most reliable results for our patients, which is why we currently do not use this type of implant.

Although titanium dental implants have a success rate of over 95%, they can still fail. Some factors that might lead to failure include:

• Inability to integrate with the bone
• Smoking
• Diabetes

If an implant fails within the first year, your dentist will replace it at no cost to you.
